Self-Introduction

I am Ester Demideh. I am a resilient and driven individual. I have overcome adversity to achieve success as an entrepreneur, business owner, and director of Lacuna Museum Ltd. I am pioneering in the re-establishment for adult social and emotional learning. My journey from poverty, bullying and isolation to academic excellence has shaped me. Entrepreneurship has also shaped me into the person I am today. I am passionate about sharing my story. I want to inspire and empower other people like me.

Academic Excellence

I graduated from my sixth form with CTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Business Studies. I received an A*A*A* equivalent. This included 4 awards: Head of Sixth Form Award, Growth Mindset and Resilience, Professionalism, and 97-100% in Attendance. I also received a university bursary and a university scholarship for social responsibility at my chosen university. Additionally, I gained 3 work experience opportunities and an invitation for a degree apprenticeship. I was entitled to ‘adjustment’ for exceeding my predicted grades. I fulfilled all of my manifestos as the Student Union President at my sixth form. I also completed a 10 week volunteering experience in Nicaragua after fundraising £1200 for the Raleigh International Charity.

I graduated from a Russel group university with a 2:1. I also received one of the university’s most prestigious achievements: The Stellify Award. Eleven of my accolades were reported on my Higher Education Achievement Report. These included: Make a Difference Award. The Manchester Leadership Award (Silver Level). Step Up And Lead. Entrepreneurship Journey

I knew from the moment I was closing my time at sixth form I was going to be in a position of power. I told my teacher I wanted to become a CEO in my 20s and they said I wouldn’t be able to do that as it takes time to reach such status in a company, I told her that I was still going to do it anyways. I feel that we didn’t realise was going to achieve this by starting my own company at the age of 24.

After I graduated I was left with the question of what career path I wanted to take. I had two options. I could either continue my battle to take the traditional route with a graduate scheme in management consulting. Or, I could start a business idea I was thinking about. It was difficult to find the courage. I took a leap, and a year later I won an award for my business. This happened when it was still in its ideation stage.

Receiving the award for Lacuna (May 2022)

After receiving that award, I began the development of my first service. I am now pioneering in my field and industry.

Lacuna Museum is the only and leading service to use Emotion Regulation theory. It tackles common workplace psychological phenomena. These phenomena have had little to no treatment options till now. I continued to develop my career and became a certified coach, mentor, keynote speaker, and content creator.

Inspiring Others

I am deeply passionate about inspiring and empowering others, particularly women and young people facing similar challenges. I have been encouraged various times to come back to my community to share my story. But I have never felt ready or deserving to do so. By sharing my story of overcoming adversity, I hope to instill confidence in others. I aim to build resilience and determination. This will empower them to unlock their full potential and achieve success.

What to expect

The audience will be able to learn the trials and tribulations I was put through. They will also learn the ways in which I harnessed personal leadership, resilience, strategic thinking, resourcefulness, determination, and introspection to overcome those challenges.
