EQ Coaching

What is Emotional Intelligence?

Emotional Intelligence since popularized has had an ambiguous definition, so we look to John Mayer; a key academic scholar in this field to help express it better:

Intelligence refers to the unique human mental ability to handle and reason about information,

Thus,

Emotional Intelligence refers to the ability to carry out accurate reasoning of emotions and the ability to use emotions and emotional knowledge to enhance thought.

Considering the definition we have a slightly different approach Lacuna acknowledges emotional intelligence as both an ability and a skill that you can build regardless of the skill level you perceive yourself to be – Lacuna is a space of compassion offering services that focuses on establishing the basics on emotions and social relations.

What is a coach?

A coach guides individuals or teams to achieve their personal or organizational goals, offering expertise, support, and accountability. There are many specialisations for coaches, career coaches, wellness coaches, life coaches, executive coaches, and others.

Coaching has its roots in psychology and sports coaching. It is a person-centered approach that uses the skill of questioning and listening to facilitate self-directed learning. It is heavily focused on pushing you to reach your highest potential on your own accord. Hence the reason, coaches are highly sought after due to their ability to enhance performance, provide clarity, and drive progress. Socrates, (one of the most influential thinkers for Western philosophy) once said:

“I cannot teach anybody anything – I can only make them think, which is far superior to passing my own little wisdom.”

This is the premise of what a coach is. Please read the coaching programme and outline below for a comprehensive breakdown of your expectations.

About Me: Ester Demideh

“The coach you are is as good as the awareness you have of yourself”

Debra Broadhurst – Moe Foundation Lead Facilitator

I myself have been coached at various points in my life since I was 17 until the age of 24 – it was because of this I was able to nurture my ability to introspect and to build high levels of self-awareness and creative problem solving. The support I had received from my coaches aided me in reaching many of my ambitions and sustaining my determination regardless of the many obstacles and pivots I had faced. The journey I have been on was met with various moments of failure that turned into achievements but also many moments of contemplation to drive me towards a life where I felt a sense of purpose and fulfillment. To name a few:

  • I failed my A-Levels in my first year and turned it around to achieve A*A*A* equivalent grade in Business Studies by my final year
  • I let go of my old career path work in education, to start my own business only to transition into monetizing my personal brand by becoming an entrepreneur as well as a business owner.
  • I transitioned from a social butterfly who wanted to be around people constantly to learning to enjoy my own company by living in isolation to rediscover myself and change the trajectory of my life to be more empowering.

What can you expect from our sessions?

As well as being the current pioneer for adult social and emotional learning you can feel confident in my ability to offer a coaching service capable of extensive growth in character and mindset.

You can expect a warm and trusting environment with a coach who facilitates high levels of awareness within individuals through mindful inquiry that leads to insights about the self and others.

My specialty is in emotion regulation and helping my clients feel a closer connection to themselves and their purpose by digging deeper into their ideals; motivations; as well as challenging limiting beliefs. This means I am the best coach for those wanting to make clear transitions in their life on a personal or career level. As well as a coach and mentor for those want to build higher levels or emotion regulation, confidence, self-awareness, and motivation in their life.

My Experience

I continue to offer my time as a coach by working as a programme assistant of the coach training team at the MOE Foundation:

  • Delivering some key elements of the course
  • Bringing my own stories and experiences to support coaches in training,
  • Assisting and observing trainee as they practice.

Outside of this I am also a coach supervisor, meaning I coach other coaches in training on their goals to becoming certified.

With this in mind the quality of my coaching is at a level for me to be a mentor.

Ester Demideh is a Certified Coach – Recognized by the Association of Coaching and a Moe Foundation coach and Alumni

Reviews

Angela

“Ester was good at asking insightful questions; delving deeper on comments that I made, pushed me where appropriate but in a calm and welcoming manner. She helped me identify my goals; break them down into small achievable chunks, offered good advice, held me accountable and brought new awareness about me and what I capable of doing.”

Delilah

Ester is a uniquely attuned coach, bringing a sense of humour and creativity to our sessions. The questions she asks have taken me to new places of personal insight. I leave feeling lighter, more aware of my self-limiting beliefs and empowered to move toward my goals.”

Charlotte

“Ester coaches with lightness, presence, connection and laughter. Being coached by Ester created a feeling of belonging for me and the confidence she brings to her questions and insights really allowed me to reach some deeper themes in the topics we explored together.”

The Coaching Programme Timeline

Setting You Up: Before our first session there are a few things to set in stone. At this point, you will receive an invoice for either the first month or the full fee depending on what works for you. Once this is settled, I will send you some important paperwork (Contracts; terms of service agreements and completing some pre-coaching questionnaires to help monitor your progression) and set you up on to the app for the actions that are set towards the goals you have.
